I'm so glad I read this and you wrote it. You are an angel for your husband and daughter. My mom is an alcoholic, sober for 3 yrs this month. I'm only just getting to the point where I'm not afraid anymore!! Your words gave me the strength to know that even if she relapses, we'll all manage together. Thank you and Happy Holidays! You sound like a wonderful person! I would like to think I would have done everything you have! Your husband and kids are wonderful to be blessed by you! I am going to print this for my 17 year old to read. She was addicted to alcohol over the summer. She was dipping into our stash (which we don't drink, so we did not notice it missing). In Oct she tried to commit suicide and admitted herself to the hospital. It sounds horribalbe to say, but this whole eposide has brought us a lot closer. I make sure that I listen to her and hug her when ever she needs it. Even though the act like they don't like you a lot of times the still need you!
